Credit Card Interest Rate Reduction Telephone Scam

We would like to inform you about a telephone scam being reported to the FDIC. A company calling itself “CreditCare Services” has been calling people and claiming to be affiliated with the FDIC. Victims are told their credit card interest rate can be lowered if they provide certain information to verify that they qualify. The callers are identity thieves trying to get private information such as credit card numbers, bank accounts, PIN numbers and social security numbers to commit identity theft.
